What happens during a diagnostic dyslexia assessment?
You will complete a series of assessments which will be administered to look at:
Reading words
Spelling
Handwriting and writing speed
Reading comprehension
Reading speed
Speed of processing
Phonological processing speed
Phonological awareness
Phonological memory
Short-term, working memory
***********************
The assessment will also consider additional co-ordination and/or attention and concentration problems in relation to study and work.
***********************
What happens after the assessment?
Following the assessment, I will work out the standardised scores for each test and these scores will be used alongside your background information to establish if a dyslexia diagnosis is appropriate.
I will then write up the results in a detailed and personalised report, along with recommendations for support and for exam arrangements if appropriate.
***********************
My reports follow the latest SASC guidelines, making them suitable for universities and workplaces.

About me
My wider interests have included working as a research assistant within a UK university on a research project which looked at the UK Employment Tribunal system and how this impacts on disabled people.
A further research project where I have worked as a research assistant centred around the UK Employment Tribunal system and intersectionality: disability, race and mental health.
I am neurodiverse myself and have several family members who are also neurodiverse.
I feel strongly about the importance of equality and diversity.
I am interested in how neurodiversity and mental and physical health are often interconnected. I enjoy learning about how these things impact on people's lives.
